Moving to Drenthe / New beginnings

Well, it looks like we actually did it.

14 days ago we packed all our stuff to go on a big adventure. We left Belgium and we moved to Holland.

I will forever remember that day as the time I completely lost it. It’s true, what they say about moving. It’s beyond stressful.

But I could not be more in love with our new house.

We found the perfect place. We are renting a house in the countryside – 10 minutes from the city of Emmen (Drenthe). The house includes a beautiful kitchen, bathroom and three bedrooms. It’s three times bigger than our tiny studio.

It’s more than what we wished for.
But it doesn’t feel like home…
Not yet.

These are the chaotic days. The days of not knowing where you are going and what’s going to happen. The days with so many things to do, but not knowing where to start. So many things about our future are still uncertain. All I know is that we are going to stay in Drenthe for at least 4 years.

I am starting to realise that maybe that’s all I need to know right now. Maybe the hard lesson I need to learn is to be okay with the uncertainty. Learning to trust that it all will be okay.

While Ramon is waiting to start with his study program, I am looking for a new job. I am excited to start fresh at a new company, ready to learn new skills and meet new colleagues. There is joy in new beginnings. This truly feels like a fresh start and I am ready to work hard to achieve my goals.

Change is hard. It’s uncomfortable, but It’s also necessary.
I want to welcome it.
